New Ford Mustang 2018 Facelifted Model Coming Soon!
Ford has taken the wraps off its updated Mustang 2018which recently debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
There are a number of upgrades to the latest Ford Mustang, including a more powerful engine and suspension upgrades.
These include the 5.0-litre boosted petrol variant seeing a bump in power from 412bhp to 443bhp, while the 2.3-litre will drop from 313bhp to 286 bhp. The reduction is due to emission targets.
Despite the drop in power, Ford claims the 2.3-litre is more responsive under acceleration thanks to a 10 speed automatic gearbox. There will also be quad exhausts for the V8 model and both the Eco Boost and the 5 litre V8 will get air vents in the boonet to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.
The rear tail lights has been tweaked slightly and the front bumber has been altered - bring the nose of the car down an inch to also help with improving drag co-efficiency. A new MagneRide Damping System allows the car to quickly adapt to changing road conditions and the addition of two new drive modes – Drag Strip Mode and My Mode – should improve the car’s driving characteristics. The upgrade comes at a welcome time for Ford due to the drop off in current Mustang sales as potential buyers wait anxiously for the facelifted, upgraded S550 generation model.
“Europe’s passion for Mustang has proven even greater than we imagined – almost 30,000 Mustangs are already bringing one of the most iconic sights in motoring to the continent’s streets,” said Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president, Europe Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company.
“There are few cars on the road that can deliver such a combination of heritage, style and performance to such a wide audience.
"The new Ford Mustang offers the most compelling package yet.”
Inside the car, the interior remains the same, save for the introduction of new optional infotainment systems.
A 12-inch LCD paired with Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system which allows smartphone connectivity, audio, navigation and climate control.
This system is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Deliveries of the new Ford Mustang for customers in Europe will begin in 2018.
